Description: Promising new microarrays derived from the convergence of biotechnology and other advanced technologies, including nanotechnology, optronics, electronics and ICT, drive more
exhaustive clinical proteomics with higher accuracy and sensitivity. Particularly, emerging technologies for glycan profiling, derived from glycoscience and glycomics, provide
unique and powerful tools for the development of cancer diagnosis and therapy, regenerative medicine and stem cellbased therapy. This session will outline the current frameworks
and initiatives for the development and applications of microarrays and clinical proteomics to facilitate innovative medicine development and drug discovery.

Objectives:

1. Highlight the cutting edge of innovative glycan profiling
technologies.

2. Overview glyco-marker and clinical proteomics research.

3. Provide a case study of an interdisciplinary approach in Japan to technology-convergence, innovative microarray development and clinical proteomics to deliver highthroughput drug-target discovery.
